Naval personnel during a foot patrol conducted in Maduragama, Puttalam yesterday (29th April) apprehended 03 persons who were transferring teak logs without a valid permit.
Accordingly, a group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command, during a foot patrol conducted yesterday, managed to apprehend these 03 persons who were transferring teak logs without a valid permit. The Navy also seized 12 teak logs of 6 feet, 05 teak logs of 3 feet and a small lorry used to transfer timber.
The apprehended suspects have been identified as residents of Sirambiadiya in Puttalam, aged 41 and 44. The 03 suspects along with the lorry and timber were handed over to the Puttalam Police for onward investigation.
