Navy grants one million as death compensation

The Sri Lanka Navy granted one million rupees as death compensation to the farther of the late Able Seaman KAN Kumara, who had died of a road traffic accident.

Sri Lanka Navy rescued the missing Indian fishing trawler with the six-member crew drifting as a result of a mechanical problem and anchored at a distance of five nautical miles west of Iranativu Island on 23rd September 2015.

Commander of the Navy Guest of Honour at final exercise of FTX Cormorant Strike 2015

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne was the Guest of Honour on the final day of Cormorant Strike 2015, the field training exercise (FTX) jointly conducted by the Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force with the participation of 54 foreign participants representing Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan and the USA.

15 Indian fishermen arrested whilst poaching in Sri Lankan waters

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the SL Coast Guard to arrest 15 Indian fishermen along with two Indian steel fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters in the seas North-East of Point Pedro on 21st September 2015.

Naval assistance to a patient onboard a fishing trawler

On information received from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Sri Lanka Navy immediately dispatched a naval craft on 21st September 2015 to assist a patient onboard a fishing trawler named 'Manoch Malli 10' which was at 45 nautical miles east of Oluvil.
