Art exhibition by NSVU preschool children to celebrate World Children's Day

Following an idea mooted by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the NSVU preschools of Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Gemunu, Tissa, Pandukabaya and Dakshina organized art exhibitions at respective preschools on 02nd October 2020. Further, the initiative had been set in motion in parallel with the World Children's Day celebrations on 01^st of October, aiming to hone art skills of the NSVU preschool children.

Gracing these events as Chief Guests the executive committee members of NSVU namely, Mrs. Kumari Weerasinghe from the Western Naval Command, Mrs. Dilini Perera from the Eastern Naval Command, Mrs. Ganga Dias from the North Central Naval Command and Mrs. Mala Lamahewa from the Southern Naval Command attended respective exhibitions. Apart from that, Commander Southern Naval Area took part in the event held in Southern Naval Command, while Commanding Officers of respective bases in which the preschools have been established, preschool supervising officers and staff members also joined these occasions to appreciate the skills of budding artists.

Meanwhile Mrs. Mala Lamahewa, a member of the executive committee generously provided books to the preschool library for the use of its children in the Southern Naval Command. On completion of the exhibition, the Chief Guests and other invited guests handed over prizes to the little artists in recognition of their creativity.
