Foundation stone for NSVU Flower Decoration Unit and Batik Centre building laid at SLNS Gemunu

The President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne laid a foundation stone for construction of a new building, with the objective of expanding the services provided by the Seva Vanitha Flower Decoration Unit and Batik Centre, at the premises of Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Gemunu on 25th October 2020.

The programme was conducted in accordance with health advice and procedures stipulated in the face of the current COVID – 19 pandemic in the country, and the foundation stone for the new building was laid at an auspicious time, giving prominence to Buddhist rituals.

Naval Officer in Charge (Welisara), Commodore ASL Gamage, Senior Supervising Officer, Navy Seva Vanitha Unit , Commodore US Seneviratne, Acting Director General Civil Engineering, Commodore MJRR Medagoda, Deputy Director Naval Civil Engineering (Planning), Commodore MRP Chandrasekara, Commanding Officer SLNS Gemunu and a limited number of naval personnel were also present on this occasion.
