Navy assists to conduct the Iranativu church Mass
Marking the first Friday of the 40 day lent season, the annual mass of the Church of Our Lady of Rosary on the island of Iranativu, which is situated at six Nautical Miles west of SLNS Buwaneka in Nachchikuda, was successfully conducted with the assistance of the naval personnel of SLNS Buwaneka on 12th February 2016.

Commander of the Navy bestows the recuperation centre on the Maha Sangha
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne bestowed the newly constructed recuperation centre at the Makuluwa Sri Buddhasinharamaya on the Maha Sangha on 14th February 2016 at the invitation of the Deputy Adhikarana Sanga Nayake of Dakshina Lanka and Chief Incumbent of the temple, the Most Venerable Dr. Keradewala Punnarathana Thera.

Navy arrests seventeen local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
Naval personnel attached to Rapid Action Boat Squadron (RABS) Headquarters in Kalpitiya arrested seventeen local fishermen with 5 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing using a banned fishing nets in the Uchchamuniya and Kimbulbokka sea areas on 13th February 2016.
