Navy arrests two persons with 36 g of Heroin
On receipt of intelligence tip-off, naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijayaba located in Nilaweli in the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with Police Special Task Force personnel in Sardhapura arrested 2 suspects with 36.230 g of heroin in their possession, during a joint-raid carried out in the general area of Gopalpuram yesterday (18).

Two more Reverse Osmosis plants declared open for community use
Yet another programme of the Navy’s community service project which is operated under the visionary leadership of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, came to its successful end today (16) at the Uyilankulama Police Station, Mannar and in the village of Ethulgama in Thirappane with the opening of 2 more Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants for the use of the general public.
