The Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Yi Xianliang called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera, at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 20th April 2015.

Upgrading the ship maintenance facilities, the Sri Lanka Navy commenced the expansion of the existing slip way at SLNS Dakshina in Galle by adding a side-slip way on 13th March 2014 to cater to the long line-up of under-water maintenance of the Sri Lanka naval ships and craft.

Sri Lanka Navy Men Volleyball Team emerged champions, beating Sri Lanka Air Force in the 29th Youth Services-Rupavahini Volleyball Tournament held at the indoor stadium of the Youth Services Council in Maharagama on 11th April 2015.

The New Year festival organized by the Sri Lanka Navy in view of the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year, in which the President of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence, Mrs. B. M. Basnayake was the Chief Guest, was held at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara on 10th April 2015.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera, declared open the Naval Printing Unit established at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara on 09th April 2015.

The Insignia Awarding Ceremony of the 22nd Intake of the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) was held at the SBS Headquarters in Trincomalee on 04th April 2015.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera declared open the newly-constructed alms-hall at the Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya on the Bak Full Moon Poya Day, which fell on the 03rd April 2015.

Two Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) ships, “Ikazuchi” and “Murasame” arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 03rd April 2015.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera declared open the photo exhibition titled “Soviet Navy and the Great Victory over fascism in Second World War” held by the visiting Russian naval ship “Admiral Panteleev” on 30th March 2015.

On completion of their three-day visit, the Indian Naval Ships “TIR”, “KESARI”, “SUDARSHANI” and Indian Coast Guard Ship “VARUNA” joined with four Sri Lankan Naval Ships and six Fast Attack Craft in the seas off Trincomalee for a combined three-hour naval exercise in the morning hours on 30th March 2015.
