Navy grabs two suspects with Kerala cannabis worth about Rs. 75 million in Negombo
Sri Lanka Navy seized about 249kg and 900g of Kerala cannabis, during a special operation conducted in the lagoon area of Duwa, Negombo today (31st March 2022). The operation also led to the apprehension of a car and 02 suspects involved in the racket.

Kerala cannabis worth approx. Rs. 20 million held in northern waters
A special operation conducted by Sri Lanka Coast Guard in seas off Kovilan Point Lighthouse in Jaffna today (31st March 2022) led to the seizure of about 66kg and 600g of Kerala cannabis. The operation also made way to nab 03 suspects in connection to the incident and 01 dinghy used for this smuggling attempt.

Navy seizes an Indian trawler for poaching in northern waters
Sri Lanka Navy carried out a special operation on the night of 30th March 2022, to chase away a large number of Indian trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters northwest of Kovilan Point Lighthouse in Karainagar, Jaffna. In this operation, the Navy seized an Indian trawler with 03 Indian fishermen for poaching in island waters through the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).

Navy seizes a stock of smuggled dried turmeric, cardamom and herbicide
Sri Lanka Navy managed to take hold of about 1828kg of dried turmeric, 137kg of cardamom and 134 bottles of herbicide, attempted to be smuggled into the island, during a special operation mounted in seas off Allappiddi of the Kayts Island, Jaffna today (30th March 2022). The operation also led to the apprehension of a suspect (01) in connection to the illegal act.

Navy takes hold of an Indian trawler for poaching in northern waters
Sri Lanka Navy took hold of an Indian trawler with 04 Indian fishermen poaching in Sri Lankan waters. The apprehension was made in seas south of the Delft Island during a patrol carried out on the night of 28th March 2022.

Navy renders assistance to control sudden fire in Polpithigama
The Navy sprang into action to put out a sudden fire broke out in Digiliya Mountain Forest Reserve, Maeliya Polpithigama on the night of 27th March 2022. As of now (28th March) Navy firefighters are busy in controlling the fire from spreading to other areas.

Suspect nabbed with 1418kg of unauthorized fishing nets in Mannar
A special operation conducted by the Navy in coordination with Police in Uppukulam, Mannar on 27th March 2022, led to the apprehension of 1418kg of unauthorized (Monofilament) fishing nets stashed in a house. Meanwhile, the raiding party also held a suspect involved in this illegal act, during this operation.

Navy nabs suspect with commercial explosives in Trincomalee
A special operation conducted by the Navy in coordination with Police STF at Iranakeni in Trincomalee on 21st March 2022 made way to apprehend a suspect for transferring explosives by a motorbike. Among the items seized were 20 Water Gel sticks, a type of commercial explosive, and 25 non-electric detonators.
