The Sri Lanka Navy, together with the Sri Jayewardenepura Police Special Task Force, carried out a coordinated operation in Modara on 13 Sep 2025, leading to the arrest of a suspect in possession of 180 bottles of foreign liquor intended for illegal sale.

During a search operation conducted in the beach vicinity of Sirithoppuwa in Mannar on 10 Sep 25, the Sri Lanka Navy thwarted a smuggling racket involving 91 birds and apprehended 02 suspects and a dinghy employed for this illegal act.

In separate operations conducted by the Navy from 10 to 19 Aug 25, twelve (12) individuals involved in various illegal fishing activities were apprehended along with 03 dinghies in multiple locations across the island.
