U.S. delegation calls on Deputy Area Commander Southern Naval Area

A delegation from the U.S. Space Forces Pacific (SPACEPAC) and U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, led by Lieutenant Colonel Shumpei Fujimura, Head of Security Cooperation for SPACEPAC visited the Southern Naval Command Headquarters today, 21 October 2026, and called on Deputy Area Commander Southern Naval Area Commodore Aruna Weerasinghe.

The meeting focused on enhancing space domain awareness, strengthening military ties and discussing matters of mutual interest. The cordial meeting drew to a close with an exchange of mementoes, marking the importance of this occasion.
