Navy recovers smuggled cache of shampoo packets in Talaimannar
The Navy recovered a consignment of smuggled shampoo packets during a search operation conducted at the Urumalei beach area in Talaimannar, belonging to the North Central Naval Command, on 13 July 2026.
On receipt of information, naval personnel from the establishment of SLNS Thammanna mounted the search in the beach vicinity and recovered 5,386 packets of shampoo.
The shampoo packets recovered in the operation were handed over to the Talaimannar Police for further investigation and legal action.
