Afloat and Training Commands win men's and women's titles at Inter-Command Volleyball Championship – 2026

Afloat Command secured the men's title, while Training Command claimed the women's championship at the Inter-Command Volleyball Championship - 2026, held at Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee from 20 to 24 July 2026.

The final day of encounters were graced by the presence of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy and Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage.

The tournament brought together teams representing all Naval Commands. At the men's final, Afloat Command defeated North Central Command by 3-1 to lift the championship trophy. Leading Engineering Mechanic DGC Devasurendra was adjudged the tournament's Best Player.

In the women's final, Training Command overcame Southern Command by 3-1 to secure the championship. Woman Ordinary Seaman HATD Kumari was awarded the Best Player title for her outstanding performance.

The occasion was also attended by the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Navy Volleyball and Director General Personnel, Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Premaratne, the Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Indika De Silva, the Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, along with senior and junior naval officers and sailors.
