NSVU into another social responsibility initiative
Following an idea mooted by the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), several social responsibility initiatives were set in motion, with the provision a wheel chair and a laptop computer. Accordingly, provision of a wheel chair to the ailing father of serving Fleet Chief Petty Officer JBS Sanjeewa ED 33240 and handing over of a laptop computer for the educational needs of 03 children of late Petty Officer PYS Sumanasiri SW 30189 were held under the patronage of the President NSVU, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne at the Light House Galley today (12th May 2021). These aids were made available after listing to the requests of Fleet Chief Petty Officer JBS Sanjeewa and the wife of late Petty Officer who died untimely while serving at SLNS Nipuna.
Executive Committee Member of NSVU, Mrs. Ayoni Wevita, Senior Supervising Officer NSVU, Commodore US Senaviratne, Director Naval Dental Services, Commodore RPNN Wijedoru, Command Medical Officer (West), Surgeon Commander MVS Athukorala, and a limited group of individuals including the staff of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit were also present on this occasion.
