A motor bike with Kerala cannabis apprehended by Navy

The Navy in coordination with the Excise officers apprehended a motor bike with about 18kg and 300g of Kerala cannabis during a raid carried out at Chavakachcheri area in Jaffna on 18^th January 2020.

Accordingly, as another step of Navy’s contribution in National Mission of foaming a drug free country, Naval troops attached to the Northern Naval Command in coordination with Excise Office in Chavakachcheri conducted a raid in Chavakachcheri area and spotted a suspicious parked motor bike. The bike was searched and recovered about 18kg and 300g of Kerala cannabis which was concealed in the bike and accordingly the stock of KG with the bike was apprehended.

It is believed that the suspects have abandoned the motor bike with the stock of KG due to the frequent raids conducted by the Navy. Further investigation on apprehended KG and the bike is being carried out by the Excise Office - Chavakachcheri.
