Navy conducts community health programme in Trincomalee, aligned with 'Arogya' National Wellness Programme
The Eastern Naval Command of the Navy conducted a community health promotion programme in Trincomalee on 20 August 2026, as part of the ‘Arogya’ National Wellness Programme under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative.
The programme, held at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority office premises in Trincomalee, aimed to raise public awareness of health promotion and improve knowledge of preventing communicable diseases commonly reported in Sri Lanka.
Medical personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Area also conducted basic health screenings for non-communicable diseases among those attending the programme.
As a key stakeholder in the Presidential Task Force for the Clean Sri Lanka national programme, the Sri Lanka Navy continues to support similar initiatives aimed at promoting public health and wellbeing.
