U.S. Montana National Guard delegation meets Navy Chief of Staff

A delegation from U.S. Montana National Guard led by Brigadier General Trace Thomas and Brigadier General Renea Dorvall along with officials from U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka met the Navy Chief of Staff Rear Admiral Ravindra Tissera at Navy Headquarters today, 31 August 2026.

The ensuing discussion focused on the ‘Atlas Angel II’ humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise, which is scheduled to be conducted in Sri Lanka under the initiative of the Montana National Guard.

The discussion also covered ways to strengthen cooperation and interoperability between the U.S. and Sri Lanka armed forces in responding to humanitarian emergencies and disasters. Following the discussion, the two sides exchanged mementoes to mark the significance of the occasion.
