Veteran chef Don Sherman conducts culinary workshop at Naval and Maritime Academy

A special culinary workshop was conducted at the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee on 26 August 2026, for naval personnel undergoing chef training and those serving in chef roles within the Eastern Naval Area.

The workshop was conducted by veteran chef Don Sherman, with the aim of further developing professional knowledge and skills in food supply and culinary services within the Sri Lanka Navy.

Participants received theoretical and practical knowledge on food safety, food hygiene and modern culinary techniques. Chef Sherman also shared his professional experience and expertise in the culinary field during the workshop.

The programme was organised jointly by the Navy’s Logistics Directorate and the Naval and Maritime Academy. In recognition of his contribution as a resource person, Mr Sherman was presented with a commemorative memento at the conclusion of the workshop.
