National Defence College delegation visits Eastern Naval Command

A delegation of senior military and police officers from Sri Lanka and foreign countries visited the Eastern Naval Command Headquarters in Trincomalee on 14 July 2026. The visit was part of a study tour by participants of the National Security and Strategic Studies (NS&SS) Course Number 05.

The delegation, led by the Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), Major General Chamila Munasinghe, met with the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kosala Warnakulasooriya. During the formal interactions, Rear Admiral Warnakulasooriya briefed the delegation on the operational responsibilities and strategic importance of the Eastern Naval Area.

The delegation included senior officers from the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force, and Police, alongside the Directing Staff members of the National Defence College. Senior military officers from Australia, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Oman, and Saudi Arabia also participated, reflecting the multinational collaboration of the course.

As part of the study tour, the delegation visited the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee, where they were given an insight into its key repair, maintenance and support facilities, enhancing their understanding of the Sri Lanka Navy's operational and logistical capabilities.
