U.S. Embassy delegation visits Information Fusion Centre Colombo

A delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, alongside representatives from the Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation's VOLPE Center, visited the Information Fusion Centre Colombo (IFC Colombo) and the Maritime Rescue Coordinating Centre (MRCC) Colombo today, 22 September 2026.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the role, operational functions, and technical capabilities of both the Information Fusion Centre and the MRCC Colombo.

The discussions focused on maritime information sharing, maritime domain awareness, search and rescue operations, and enhancing coordination among regional maritime stakeholders.
