COMMANDER OF THE NAVY OFFERS NEWLY-CONSTRUCTED SRI SUNANDARAMA ALMS HALL TO THE MAHA SANGHA

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage handed over the newly-constructed alms hall of Kosgoda, Piyagama Sri Sunandaramaya to the Maha Sangha on 11th January 2014. The construction was carried out under the guidance of Chief Incumbent, Most Ven. Kosgoda Siriwimala Nayake Thera by the civil engineering personnel of the Southern Naval Command as part of Navy's assistance to uplift the religious places for the benefit of devotees. Financial assistance was provided by the philanthropists as contribution to the meritorious act.

Venerable members of the Maha Sangha, Commander Southern Naval Area Rear Admiral Eric Jayakody and several senior officers of the tri-forces were also present on the occasion.
