NEWLY-RENOVATED EASTERN NAVAL COMMAND FOOTBALL GROUND DECLARED OPEN

Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe declared open the newly – renovated football ground of the Eastern Naval Command on 11^th January 2014.

To coincide with the event, an exhibition football match was played between the retired naval personnel and the SLN veteran football players. The retired naval personnel team secured the victory beating the veterans.

The Inter-command football finals were also held at the same venue and the Eastern Naval Command emerged the champions beating the Northern Naval Command 06-nill.

Rear Admiral (retd) Sarath Weerasekara, retired senior naval officers and naval personnel from the Eastern Naval Command were also present to witness the matches.
