Navy Sports Club beat Army Sports Club 71- 43 in a Dialog "A" Division rugby league 2nd round encounter, which was worked off at the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapksa Stadium on 23^rd January 2014. Chief of Defence Staff, General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Jayantha Perera and senior naval officers were also present to witness the match.

Navy scored 10 tries, 9 conversions and 1 penalty while Army scored 6 tries, 5 conversions and 1 penalty in reply.
