IN VIEW OF THE 66TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS, SRI LANKA NAVY ACCORDS A 25-GUN SALUTE TO THE NATION AS A TRIBUTE

Sri Lanka Navy accorded a 25-Gun Salute to the Nation today (04th February 2014) at the Lighthouse premises in Colombo Fort at 12.00 p.m. to mark the 66th Independence Day.

The traditional 25-Gun Salute, the highest of its kind, is accorded by the Sri Lanka Navy to the Nation on the Independence Day. The Navy fires 25 rounds of gun fire exactly at 1200 hours on the Independence Day (4th February) as a mark of respect to the entire Nation.
