NORTH WESTERN NAVAL COMMAND CONDUCTS A FIELD HEALTH CLINIC

As part of the Navy’s Community Development Project, the North Western Naval Command conducted a field health clinic in the Mannar district on 08th February 2014 under the patronage of Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dayananda Nanayakkara.

The Field health clinic was conducted successfully at the Tamil Mixed Pre-School in Kayakkuli by the staff of the Naval Hospital of the North Western Naval Command to improve personnel hygiene and medical facilities of the newly re-settled villagers in Kayakkuli, Karadakkuli and Chilawathurai in Musali division.

Treatments were given to communicable, non-communicable and pediatric diseases as well as gastritis. Illness and women health care at primary level was looked in to during the clinic attended by a large number of patients. Medicine and nutritional supplements were provided free of charge by the State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC), Glaxo Lanka, Interpharma Ltd, Epharma Pharmaceuticals, JL Morrison Ltd and Thriposha Lanka Ltd.
