Commander of the Navy Panel Speaker at Economic Hub Conference

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage participated as a panelist at the annual management conference organized by the Colombo University MBA Alumni Association on 25^th February 2014. Minister of Economic Development, Hon. Basil Rajapaksa was the Chief Guest and Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal delivered the keynote address at the event held at the Colombo Hilton Hotel.

The conference titled “5 Hubs Fiction or Reality” aimed at providing a broad framework to secure Sri Lanka’s 5 hubs concept for growth in the global economy as outlined in the “Vision for Sri Lanka – 2030”.

The Commander of the Navy in his speech shared his deep knowledge related to the maritime hub status of the island-nation, which is strategically positioned astride the key shipping routes. His valuable insights on harnessing the maritime potential of the country were very much appreciated by the key officials of the Sri Lankan Business Community attending the conference.
