Navy provides Training on Disaster Management & Life Saving

The Navy conducted a special training programme for a selected group of personnel in the Kegalle district on 27^th March 2014. It was conducted by SLN’s Rapid Action Boat Squadron (RABS) and the Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Squadron (4RS) personnel at the Ceylon Adventure Center in Kithulgala. The well- attended programme was organized in collaboration with the Kegalle District DMC officer in response to a request made by the Kegalle Divisional Secretary.

During the programme, training was provided on water related accidents, their nature and occurrence as well as how to respond quickly to rescue as a life saver. A practical session was also conducted on first aid, use of life saving equipment, ropes and knots, how to rescue people and maintain leadership as well as and team spirit during the task for the benefit of the participants
