North Western Naval Command constructs another A Bio-Gas Plant

As part of the Navy’s environmental health improvement project, a biogas plant was constructed at the Rapid Action Boat Squadron (RABS) Headquarters at Gangewadiya in Eluwankulam under the patronage of Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dayananda Nanayakkara.

The project is being implemented under the United Nation Development Programme-Global Feasibility Fund. It aims at a total scientific solution for organic waste management and thereby helps in reducing global warming and Green House effect. It also produces renewable energy and liquid compost which will be economically beneficial.

A professional team from the Engineering Faculty of the University of Ruhuna and Help Eee Green Ltd. conducted a training workshop with a technical evaluation study on 31^st March 2014 as part of the project.
