Commander of the Navy Chief Guest at Navy New Year Raffle Draw and “Bakmaha Udanaya 2014”

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage was the Chief Guest at the New Year Raffle Draw organized by the Sri Lanka Navy Seva Vanitha Unit and “Bakmaha Udanaya” organized by the Western Naval Command on 11^th April 2014 at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara. Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Jayantha Perera, President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Srima Colombage, Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe and senior naval officers were also present at the event held in view of the forthcoming New Year. The first prize was a brand new mini-truck. A sofa set and a refrigerator were awarded as the second and the third prizes respectively. There were also 30 consolation prizes for the winners to take home.

Commander of the Navy also presented prizes to “Navy New Year Avurudu Kumaraya & Kumari” who were adjudged from a large number of contestants that vied for the coveted titles. The event concluded with a colourful musical show where Navy Ranaviru Real Stars too entertained the packed audience with their talents.
