Pakistan Naval Ship arrives at the Port of Colombo on goodwill visit
Pakistan Naval Ship “Shamsheer” arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 13th May 2014. They were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on arrival.
The Commanding Officer, Captain Rashed Zafar paid a courtesy call on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo.
“Shamsheer” FFG – 252 is a frigate belonging to the Pakistan Navy. It is 123 meters in length and has a displacement of 3143.9 tons. The ship carries a complement of 242 naval personnel.
The visiting ship will stay in Sri Lanka until 15th May 2014 and crew is scheduled to participate in a several programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy to enhance the friendly relations between the two navies during their stay in Sri Lanka.
