Edithara II relaunched after semi-refit

Sri Lanka Navy’s Fast Gun Boat, Edithara II was ceremonially relaunched after semi-refit at the Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee on 21^st May 2014. Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe, senior naval officers of the Naval Dockyard, Commanding Officer Edithara II, Lieutenant Commander Janaka Hettiarachchi and the crew participated in the re-launching ceremony held to mark the occasion.

Semi-refit on Edithara II was carried out on the Number 03 Slipway at a cost of Rs. 51.4 million. Naval personnel of the Naval Dockyard were able to complete the work within a year enabling Edithara II to resume her service more efficiently with the modern equipment fitted onboard.
