National Maritime and Naval History Museum declared open

The Speaker Hon. Chamal Rajapaksa declared open the National Maritime and Naval History Museum in Trincomalee on 09^th May 2014. The museum is housed in the former Dutch Commissioner’s House, which was fully renovated by the Navy under the guidance and supervision of the Department of Archeology utilizing the financial assistance from the government of the Netherlands.

Minister of National Heritage, Hon. Jagath Balasuriya, the Chief Minister and the Governor of the Eastern Province, Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe were also present on the occasion.
