Navy to reconstruct Navalar Pre-school

As part of its community welfare project, the Navy has undertaken the reconstruction of the pre-school of the Sampur Navalar School in Trincomalee. The reconstruction commenced on 20^th June 2014 under the patronage of Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe. Commandant SLNS Vidura, senior naval officers in the area, Principal and staff of the school were present at the ceremony held to mark the occasion.

The reconstruction is being carried out by the Navy at an estimated cost of Rs. 545,000/= for the benefit of the children residing in Kuninthivu, Sudaikudah and Navaratnapuram. The students were delighted by the Navy’s generous gesture and they had organized a colourful welcome ceremony to express their gratitude.
