23 Naval personnel receive houses under "Api Wenuwen Api" housing project

His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa ceremonially handed over the 104 houses constructed in the Anuradhapura district under the 16^th phase of the "Api Wenuwen Api" housing project on 05^th July 2014. The Ceremony was held at the Horowpathana Madya Maha Vidyalaya in Anuradhapura.

The "Api Wenuwen Api" housing project is a concept of His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa and implemented under the guidance of Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence spearheaded by Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa supervises the implementation of the project in tribute to tri-forces personnel defending the Motherland.

Twenty three (23) naval personnel received houses at the official ceremony. They were FCPO PB Rathnasiri, CPO IBMCAB Ishtaweera, CPO AMDM Abeysinghe, PO JAPS Peiris, PO KMP Karunarathna, PO RMSK Rathnayaka, LME UNK Rathnayaka, LPM HM Dasanayaka, LPM PRP Kumara, LMEDA DPHS Kumara, LS RAMS Ranaweera, LEM PGDK Ekanayaka, LS SMPM Senarath, LS (PRO) JS Jayasinghe, APM (Disabled) SNS Susiripala, AB HAN Kumara, ME AMDB Amarasinghe, ME JVS Thilakarathna, APM WAKNP Kumara, LS PAAP Jayantha, AB SAK Herath, Late AB WA Kumara and CA (Retd/Disabled) MDNK Nandasena.

Secretary to the President, Mr. Lalith Weeratunge, Secretary of the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Chairperson of the Defence Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, Members of Parliament, Governor of the North Central Province, Hon. Karunaratna Divulgane, Chief of Defence Staff, General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Rathnayake, Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera, senior officers of the Armed Forces and Police together with a large gathering of residents in the area also attended the event.
