Bangladesh Naval Ships arrives at the Port of Colombo on goodwill visit
 

Bangladesh Naval Ships “OSMAN” and “MADHUMATI” arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 30th July 2014. They were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on arrival.

OSMAN (F – 18) is a frigate. It is 103 meters in length and has a displacement of 1702 tons. The ship commanded by Captain SMAK Azad has a complement of 250 naval personnel. MADHUMATI (P-911) is a Coastal Patrol Craft. It is 61 meters in length and has a displacement of 635 tons. The ship commanded by Commander SM Sharif-ul-Islam has a complement of 70 naval personnel.

The visiting ships will stay in Sri Lanka until 02nd August 2014 and the crew is scheduled to participate in several programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy to enhance the friendly relations between the two navies during their stay in Sri Lanka.
