Commander of the Navy visits North Western, North Central & Northern Naval Commands

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera visited the North Western‚ North Central and Northern Naval Commands on 08th August 2014. At the North Western Naval Command Headquarters in Mullikulam, he was received by Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal de Silva and accorded a Token Guard of Honour. The Commander addressed the naval personnel of the North Western Naval Command. Thereafter, he proceeded to SLNS Thammanna in the North Central Naval Area. He was received by Area Commander, Rear Admiral Dimuthu Gunawardena and was accorded a Token Guard of Honour. The Navy Commander made an inspection visit to the Thalai-mannar pier and addressed the naval personnel of the North Central Naval Command at the Thalai-mannar naval base.

On arrival in the Northern Naval Area, the Navy Commander was received by Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sarath Dissanayake and accorded a Token Guard of Honour. He paid obeisance at the Nagadeepa Rajamaha Viharaya and received blessings from Chief Incumbent Most Ven. Navadagala Padumakitti Tissa Nayake Thera. Thereafter, he visited SLNS Elara in Karainagar and SLNS Uttara in Kankasanthurei and addressed the naval personnel of the naval bases.
