Commander of the Navy visits Eastern Naval Area
 
 

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera visited the Eastern Naval Area on 31st August 2014. On arrival, he was received by Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rohan Amarasinghe and accorded a Token Guard of Honour.

The Commander of the Navy declared open the new married quarters constructed at Durantha Cresent. The Commander addressed the naval personnel of the ENA and the Officer Under-Trainees at the Command auditorium and Fleet officers and Sailors at the Inner Yard Jetty. He made an inspection visit to SLNS Tissa and SLN Dockyard. In the evening, he attended a family get-together of the ENA officers held at the Command Wardroom.

On the following day, the Commander of the Navy planted a tree sapling at the Navy House to mark his first official visit to the ENA and made inspection visits to SLNS Walagamba, SLNS Vidura and SLNS Lankapatuna. At there he addressed the Naval Personnel attached to SLNS Ranweli, SLNS Walagamba, SLNS Vijayaba, SLNS Vidura, SLNS Kashyapa, SLNS Lankapatuna, SLNS Parakumba and SLNS Gokanna.
