4RS personnel undergo silver medal refresher life saving training
 

The Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Squadron (4RS) underwent a silver medal refresher life saving training on 01st October 2014 at the Calido beach in Kalutara. The Commanding Officer RABS/4RS and seventy-four 4RS personnel took part in the training programme conducted in collaboration with the Life Saving Association of Sri Lanka (LSASL) and Life Saving Victoria (LSV) based in Australia.

The course aimed at enhancing professionals skills of the 4RS personnel in saving lives in various water environments and responding quickly to water related accidents.

The Rapid Response Rescue and Release Squadron (4RS) is a special unit of the Sri Lanka Navy which provides life saving and relief assistance during natural disasters such as floods and rough sea conditions. The squadron consists of naval personnel specialized in disaster management and craft especially designed for its operations.
