All-night pirith chanting held in view of “Parakrama Day”
 
 

An all-night pirith chanting ceremony was held in view of “Parakrama Day” at the Admiral Somatilake Dissanayake Auditorium on 23^rd October 2014. The wife of the Commander of the Navy Mrs. Shalika Perera, senior naval officers and their wives, the Commanding Officer Captain Suresh de Silva and the Ship’s company of SLNS Parakrama took part in the religious event conducted to offer blessings on the 32^nd anniversary of the SLN’s shore establishment located on the former Flagstaff Street in Colombo. It was followed by a Dhana offered to the Mahasangha on the morning of the following day. Merit was also invoked on the naval personnel killed in action for the defence of the motherland.
