North Western Naval Command conducts blood donation campaign in view of Navy 64th Anniversary

The North Western Naval Command conducted a blood donation campaign at SLNS Barana on 12th December 2014 in view of the 64th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy. A large number of naval personnel voluntarily donated their blood to save the lives of patients living in the area. This event was organized under the patronage of the Commander North Western Naval Area Rear Admiral Sarath Mohotty. The officials from the blood transfusion centre of the Anuradhapura teaching hospital rendered assistance to make the event a success.

Meanwhile, two field health clinics were also conducted at the Economic Development Office in Chilawathurai and the Our Lady of Assumption Church in Mullikulam on 29th and 30th November 2014. A large number of civilians from the Tamil and Muslim communities attended the clinics from the newly resettled rural villages in Sawariyapuram, Pudukuduirrippu, Pandaraweli, Karadakkuli, Mullikulam, Pokkulam and Marichchikatti in the Mannar district.
