Commander of the Navy awards permanent appointments to 210 civilian employees

The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera presented letters of permanent appointment to 210 civilian employees at a function held at SLNS Parakrama on 18th December 2014.

The civilian employees, who had been recruited on contract basis, received their permanent employment in the Navy as they had completed a service period of 180 days stipulated in the 2015 Budget presented to parliament by His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Addressing the civilian employees who received permanent appointments, the Commander of the Navy commended the assistance given by them for the smooth functioning of the Navy and stated that he expects them to continue their service more efficiently with a high sense of commitment as they have now been absorbed into the permanent cadre.

Senior naval officers attached to the Naval Headquarters and officials of the Naval Civil Administration were also present on the occasion.
