Commander of the Navy declares open Moskva's photo exhibition
 

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera declared open the photo exhibition held on board the visiting Russian naval ship “Moskva”, which is berthed at the port of Colombo, on 20th December 2014. He was warmly received by the Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Alexander A. Karchava, the Mission Commander and the ship’s Commanding Officer on arrival. The event held in view of the 35th anniversary of the St. Andrew’s flag adorning the Russian Naval Ensign.

The missile cruiser “Moskva” belonging to the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy is in Sri Lanka for replenishment and crew’s relaxation. It is being accompanied by the replenishment ship “Cola”. Prior to their departure, the crew members of both ships are taking part in a special programme arranged by the Sri Lanka Navy to enhance the friendly relations between the two navies.
