Navy donates blood to remedy the shortage of blood in Chilaw

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility project, a special blood donation campaign was held at SLNS Thambapanni of the North Western Naval Command on 15^th January 2015 under the patronage of the Commander North Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sarath Mohotti.

The blood donation campaign was conducted with the assistance of a medical team from the District General Hospital of Chilaw to remedy the severe shortage of blood at the Regional Blood Centre in Chilaw. A large number of naval personnel voluntarily donated their blood to save the lives of patients belonging to the multi-ethnic community living in the North Western Province.
