Commander of the Navy visits Eastern Naval Area
 

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera visited the Eastern Naval Area on 07th February 2015. He was received by the Commander Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Rohana Perera on arrival and accorded a Token Guard of Honour. The Navy Commander was accompanied by Mrs. Shalika Perera, Director Generals of the Navy and senior naval officers.

During his visit to the ENA, the Commander of the Navy made an inspection visit to SLN Dockyard in order to ascertain the progress of its infrastructure development and the facilities under construction for the welfare of the naval personnel. He also unveiled the Buddha statue donated by the Navy to Tissa Temple and attended the religious ceremony presided over by the Maha Sangha to bestow merit on the Navy war heroes and invoke blessings on the serving naval personnel.

The Commander of the Navy declared open the 03-storeyed academic building of the Naval & Maritime Academy that has been constructed to house the Anti-Submarine Warfare School and the Seamanship School, two well-equipped model rooms and a spacious wing for the Directing and Academic Staff at the Navy's premier training facility.
