Sri Lanka Navy accords a Guard of Honour to visiting Indian Prime Minister
 

Sri Lanka Navy accorded a Guard of Honour (GOH) to the visiting Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, at the Presidential Secretariat in the city of Colombo on 13th March 2015 at the official welcome ceremony held under the patronage of the President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena. A large number of dignitaries were present at the elegant ceremony where full state and military honours were accorded to the Indian premier, who is on a two-day official visit to Sri Lanka. The Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera, received the Indian Prime Minister and ushered him to the saluting dais along with the President of Sri Lanka.

Seventy-two SLN personnel and two naval officers took part in the GOH; the Colour Party bearing the President’s Colours was led by an SLN officer with three SLN personnel. The cultural troupe of the Sri Lanka Navy and those of Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Air Force, and Police also took part in the ceremonial welcome extended to the visiting Indian Prime Minister.
