Navy beats Kandy on their home ground
 
 

In a closely contested tussle for supremacy, the defending champions, Navy Sports Club, beat Kandy Sports Club 12 - 11 in their Dialog "A" Division Rugby League 2^nd round final match, which was worked off at Nittawela on 15^th March 2015. The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera, Mrs. Shalika Perera, the Chief of Staff of the Navy Rear Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and senior naval officers were present to witness the match in which the losing side Kandy grabbed the championship on account of their lead in the points tally.

The Navy, in a superb display of team work to pay back the rivals in their home ground, emerged winners in the final encounter scoring 04 penalties leaving Kandy to trail behind with a solitary try and two  penalties in reply. Navy’s full back Nuwan Hettiarachchi scored all four penalties in the dazzling performance.
