Navy win men's championship at Youth-Services-Rupavahini Volleyball Tournament

Sri Lanka Navy Men Volleyball Team emerged champions, beating Sri Lanka Air Force in the 29th Youth Services-Rupavahini Volleyball Tournament held at the indoor stadium of the Youth Services Council in Maharagama on 11^th April 2015.  The Navy team received their Champion Trophy and the Rs. 100,000/= cash award from the Minister of Media, Hon. Gayantha Karunathilake, who graced the finals as the Chief Guest.

The Navy also beat the Defending Champions, the Ports Authority team to reach the finals of the super league tournament contested by 08 renowned teams in the island. At the keenly fought finals, the Navy managed to prove their supremacy by beating the Air Force 25-12, 18-12, and 16-14 although the Air Force to edge over the Navy by winning the first set 25-23 and the third set 25-18.

With their excellence performance to claim the championship, the Navy was also able to clinch the awards for the Best Attacker (MGM Premaratne), the Best Setter (SH Nawab), the Best Passer (AW Lakmal) and the Best Server (Kesala Ekanayake), flying the Navy flag high.
