Commander of the Navy participates in the inauguration of construction work on two multi-purpose buildings for Sri Dalada Maligawa

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera took part in the inauguration of the construction work on the two multi-purpose buildings being built for the Temple of the Sacred Tooth in Kandy on 04th May 2015. The Minister of Power and Energy Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Chief Minister of the Central Province Hon. Sarath Ekanayake and the Diyawadana Nilame Mr. Pradeep Nilanga Dela also took part in the event held under the blessings of the Maha Sangha.

The construction of the two storey buildings will be carried out by the civil engineering personnel of the Sri Lanka Navy, utilizing the funds donated to the Sri Dalada Maligawa. It is located adjacent to the Maligawa Museum and will consists of ample space to provide accommodation to the Buddhist devotees arriving at Kandy to participate various functions associated with the premier place of Buddhist worship in Sri Lanka.
