Navy Poson programme at Gangaramaya
 
 

The Navy presented a special programme in view of Poson at Gangaramaya Temple in Hunupitiya on 02^nd June 2015 under the blessings of the Chief Incumbent Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Nayake Thera and Ven. Dr Kirinde Assaji Thera. The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera and Mrs. Shalika Perera were also present on the occasion to witness the program.

A large number of people had turned out to view the well-presented event, which conveyed the significance of the Poson full moon poya day utilizing music and dramatic techniques appropriate to the occasion. It consisted of recitation of Buddhist devotional songs and enactment of Buddhist dramas, depicting the advent of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
