Phase I of 2015 female sea cadet assessment camp concludes
 

The phase I of the female sea cadet annual assessment camp – 2015 concluded on 02nd July 2015 with a passing out parade held at the parade ground of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee. The Commandant of the Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Nandana Jayaratne graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and took the salute.

The camp was held from 24th June to 02nd July 2015 at the NMA with the participation of 782 female sea cadets from 31 schools. The first place was won by Uva Vidya Vidyalaya and the second place was won by Narammala Mayurapada Vidyalaya. Petty Officer EAWK Edirisinghe of St. Joshep’s Girls’ School, Kegalle was adjudged the Best Female Cadet. Trophies and prizes were awarded to the winners by the Chief Guest.

The event concluded with a colourful cultural show presented by the cadet bands of the schools, Navy’s western band and cultural troupe. Officers from the NMA and the Eastern Naval Area, principals and teachers of the participating schools and parents of the cadets were also present on the occasion.
