Commander of the Navy addresses newly enlisted Direct Entry offices and 56th Intake cadets

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera addressed the newly enlisted cadet officers of the 56th Intake and the Direct Entry officers at the auditorium of SLNS Parakrama on 03rd July 2015. He warmly welcomed the newly-enlisted officers and thanked the parents for giving their consent to their sons to join the Navy and serve the Motherland with distinction. The Commander called upon the cadets to utilize the rare opportunity of becoming a naval officer to the maximum since only a selected few would get that privilege in their life time.

While the cadet officers have been enlisted for Executive, Logistics, Provost, Engineering and Electrical branches, the Direct Entry officers have been enlisted for Dental & Medical branches. All will undergo their officer training at the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee.

The Director General Training Rear Admiral Udaya Bandara, the Director General Personnel Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody, several senior naval officers attached to the Naval Headquarters, the parents and family members of the enlisted officers were also present on the occasion.
